Safety and Security in Project Delivery
Mike and Andrew discussed the importance of managing safety and security risks in projects. They agreed that safety and security should not be treated as just another risk on the risk register, but should be given more attention due to their potential impact. They emphasized the need for a clear understanding of the project’s purpose and the identification of potential hazards and risks. They also discussed the importance of involving the workforce in the risk management process and the need for regular review and updating of the risk register.
The conversation covered:
- Why every project manager needs to be concerned with safety and security as a part of their project management practice.
- Why Safety and Security management is not just a part of our basic risk management processes.
- Tthe sooner we start to think about important things like safety and security, the better. But, where do we start, in planning to get things right?
- This isn’t a perfect world and, despite the preparations we make, serious things can go wrong. Andrew shares his advice for project managers who are suddenly faced with a serious issue.
