Cornelius Fichtner, PMP

Cornelius Fichtner is the founder and driving force behind PM PrepCast. This is probably the most successful learning provider for students preparing for PMI’s PMP, CAPM, and PMI-ACP examinations.

With 60,000 successful students over nearly 15 years, it’s no wonder that Cornelius has prominent place in the Project Management education world. And he is, perhaps, best known for his PMP training and the massively successful PM PrepCast and PM PodCast resources that benefit the community so much.

That’s why I wanted to speak with him about the PMI’s PMP certification.

The PMP Certification

We discuss:

  1. What is the PMP Certification, and who is it for?
  2. How does the PMP compare with the other well-known PMI qualifications: CAPM and PMI-ACP?
  3. What do you say to people who ask you the question I get so often: ‘Should I do the PMP certification?’
  4. If someone does choose to pursue PMP certification, what is your most valuable advice?
