How will Artificial Intelligence Impact the PM Profession?

What will be the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Project Management profession? We are on the cusp of some major changes that could have a huge impact. So I spoke with the leading UK academic who led research on this, for the Association for Project Management: Dr Nicholas Dacre.

At OnlinePMCourses, 2023 is the year of Artificial intelligence and Project Management.

This video is safe for viewing in the workplace.

This is learning, so, sit back and enjoy

Dr Nicholas Dacre

Nicholas Dacre is the Associate Professor of Project Management and Director of the Advanced Project Management Research Centre, at the University of Southampton.

Nicholas believes that one of the most fundamental drivers in the field of project management will be the adoption and implementation of Artificial Intelligence, and Project Data Analytics. By adopting these technologies, project professionals will potentially gain a better understanding of their projects to undertake more accurate and informed decisions.

He is the author of the APM’s 2022 research paper, Artificial Intelligence in Project Management.

That’s why I wanted to speak with him about how AI might impact the Project Management profession.

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence

We cover:

  • How is Artificial Intelligence making a real difference to the way people are managing projects today?
  • What changes do you foresee in the next 3 to 5 years and 5 to 10 years? ❓ What impacts will this have on the profession of Project Management?
  • What recommendations do you have for project managers who want to prepare themselves for these changes?

What Kit does a Project Manager Need?

I asked Project Managers in a couple of forums what material things you need to have, to do your job as a Project Manager. They responded magnificently. I compiled their answers into a Kit list. I added my own.
